TOP FANTASY PICKUPS – WEEK 3

If your fantasy team is winless or riddled with injuries, the waiver wire can become your best friend. Depending on which position you are in need of, there are a lot of good players out there that can help lead your team to victory. Here are my top pickups for Week 3 at each skill position.

Carson Wentz (QB) Philadelphia Eagles

Wentz started the season off hot last year and then faded, but now with a full year of NFL experience under his belt, Wentz is ready to take the next step. Wentz through two weeks has passed for 640 yards and 4 touchdowns. He is also the Eagles leading rusher with 61 yards so far on the season. If you’re not interested in Wentz and still need a quarterback, look at Alex Smith or Trevor Siemian who have had solid starts to the 2017 season as well.

Javorius “Buck” Allen (RB) Baltimore Ravens

While Terrance West was drafted by many fantasy owners, Buck Allen has been the more impressive running back in Baltimore. With the loss of Danny Woodhead, Allen has proven to be even more valuable than West due to his receiving skills. The Ravens have a juicy matchup against the Jaguars in Week 3. Make sure to put Allen in your lineup before the very early game starts in London.

Jack Doyle (TE) Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have been dreadful to start the 2017 season. That was to be expected once word came out that Andrew Luck isn’t in any type of hurry to return from shoulder surgery. In Week 2, Jacoby Brissett’s go-to-guy was Jack Doyle. Doyle finished the day with 8 receptions for 79 receiving yards. The tight end position is notoriously injury-prone (Gronk, Reed, Eifert, Graham, Olsen just to name a few). Doyle should be a solid play (especially in PPR) against the Browns in Week 3.

J.J. Nelson (WR) Arizona Cardinals

Nelson is having a great start to the 2017 season and is a must play in Week 3 against the dreadful Dallas Cowboys defense. Nelson has 10 receptions, 163 receiving yards, and 2 touchdowns in the first two games of the season. Larry Fitzgerald is another year older, and there are constant issues with John Brown. Nelson should get his opportunity to shine!

Best of luck to you all in Week 3. May your waiver wire acquisitions reward you nicely. The following players can be dropped from your fantasy teams.

Jeremy Hill (RB), Eric Decker (WR), Greg Olsen (TE), Corey Coleman (WR), Bilal Powell (RB), Cole Beasley (WR).
